I, Glen Paul Mendes, declare a lifelong allegiance to the color as a Luminous Vivid Indigo Green. That will indicate as a Line and Form a cipher within selected works.

My research is rooted in travel looking for ancient etchings often found in natural locations and at many sacred sites I have researched some symbolic inscriptions, pre-discovered and documented by other travellers who have wondered at the temples in Mexico the tribal markings in Ecuador and the neolithic caves in Andalusia. Artists who influence my work are Jose Parla, Peter Mathews & Mike Ballard.

I now find myself in a contemporary urban exploration and a deep engagement with the overlooked details of London's landscape, my art practice uncovers hidden dialogues etched onto the city's surfaces. Through extensive walks across London, I meticulously document the city's evolving palimpsest – the layers of lines, markings, and textures found on walls, in tunnels, and along transit routes. These urban explorations, captured in photographs and sketches, form the foundation for my mark-making concepts and on-site painting, a process I approach with the focused intensity of a "hunting magic" – seeking out and translating the inherent energy of time, space and place.

I, Glen Paul Mendes, declare a lifelong allegiance to the color as a Luminous Vivid Indigo Green. That will indicate as a Line and Form a cypher within selected works.

I walk in natural locations and places that have a rewilded either in the landscape or in a city looking for a way to harmonize a disparate art practice and thus end years of internal torment.

I now incorporate into a selected number of future artworks starting on 21st June 2025 some artworks will incorporate a Green Line By this self agreement it will finalise into my chosen art direction as a symbol a style and theme based on mark making focusing upon the artline as its theme that will contain a Green Line acting as a cypher both in line and as form.

Green Line Explanation

I shall incorporate officially a Green line within a select part of my work as an indication that a symbolic colour can act as a way in and that can act as a cypher to indicate walks in nature where the urban and natural environments merge, and I hope this can be utilised by other artists who walk...photographs and a diary video log will be my evidence, that then can incorporate a green line within my artworks.
