Psychgeological & Social Archetypes

"I consider myself a ‘Land Walker’— My practice is rooted in the dérive; I navigate London’s ‘urban jungle’ to uncover a vernacular of marks, shadows, and graffiti

Within the urban walkways of London I find evidence of tagging, composed mark making archetypes, those hidden voices found in lines, colours, shapes, figures, and words all become a trail of abstraction, one that affects my jungian unconscious and whilst at home.

Having been awarded the Lord and Lady Stephenson award a UAL grant to research tribal symbols in South America, and at Andalucia Spain my current work explores the synthesis between ancient Huichol petroglyphs and contemporary urban mark-making.

Through onsite sketching painting on paper, digital photography, and  drawing, I document these ‘hidden Londons,’ transforming mundane transit routes into poetic sites of shamanic connection. My work seeks to balance the primitive with the contemporary, revealing the sacred impulse within the concrete."
